We Are Thankful
Working at Volunteers of America of Oklahoma is more than a job...it's a
calling. Confuscius said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never
work a day in your life."
Caring for individuals with intellectual disabilities is not easy. Some
days are exhausting, frustrating, and disappointing. When you ask many
of our long-term staff, "Why do you do, what you do?" The answer is
oftentimes, "Because this is what I was meant to do. I can't imagine
doing anything else."
Many of our staff have been with us for many years. Our staff care for
our service recipients with an unsurpassed level of love and compassion.
Our service recipients and staff are more than clients and
employees...they are family.
