We offer case management services to seniors who are living in their own homes and supported by Medicaid. Volunteers of America of Oklahoma case managers work with these individuals to ensure medical needs are met and to help them to stay active in society and out of nursing homes. The program is offered in Oklahoma City.
Did you know nursing home administrators estimate that more than 65% of their residents have no regular visitors? Caring Companions matches volunteers with nursing home residents who do not have any regular visitors. Residents are often lonely and thrive on interactions with new people. Companionship not only boosts the mood but is actually therapeutic! As a volunteer, you'll find many residents simply want to talk about their families and lives and are so thankful to have someone to share with. Regular training sessions are provided. This program is located in the Tulsa metro area.
Volunteers of America of Oklahoma in Muskogee coordinates a four county RSVP Volunteer Program for persons over the age of 55. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers as it matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to serve their communities. RSVP provides service opportunities for those who want to make a difference in their communities while maintaining the flexibility to decide with whom and how frequently they serve.
This program is offered in Cherokee, McIntosh and Muskogee counties. Please contact our Muskogee office for more information.
