The 2012 Rhinestone Cowboy event will be held on Friday, May 18th at the Central Park Hall at the Tulsa Fairgrounds. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception and silent auction, followed by a live auction, live music by Travis Kidd, dinner and dancing. This year we will be presenting the 2012 Premier Volunteer Award to three outstanding members of the community.

  • David Bernstein –David started Tulsa’s first suicide prevention hotline in 1968 which evolved in to the 211 helpline. He was the Director of the Mental Health Association and worked to create “A New Leaf”, an organization that provides job training to adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Pastor Sharon Daugherty –Pastor Sharon and her late husband Billy Joe Daugherty, established Victory Christian School, Victory Bible Institute, Victory World Missions Training Center, and the Tulsa Dream Center, which provides food, clothing, medical, educational and recreational services to Tulsans. Victory has also formed 1,000 International Victory Bible Institutes in 98 countries.
  • Jack Frank - Jack produces a variety of documentaries through his company, Jack Frank Productions. He is creator of the popular “Tulsa History Series,” a collection of entertaining TV shows about Tulsa and Oklahoma. He has worked tirelessly to preserve and archive motion pictures of Tulsa’s past. His work has helped preserve hundreds of hours of archival footage of Oklahoma.
