9th Annual "Rhinestone Cowboy" - A Star-Spangled Rodeo

Annual Fundraising Event to Celebrate

120 Years of Helping America's most Vulnerable

The ninth annual event will be held at Tulsa's Historic Cain's Ballroom

Tulsa, Okla. (March 14, 2016) — Volunteers of America Oklahoma will host their ninth annual fundraising event, Rhinestone Cowboy: A Star-Spangled Rodeo, Friday, April 29th, 2016 at the historic Cain's Ballroom in Downtown Tulsa. Rodeos in the late 19th century represented a community wide celebration of the hard work that charted the American west. Rhinestone Cowboy: A Star-Spangled Rodeo will honor this fun western tradition by proudly celebrating 120 years of dedicated service by Volunteers of America of Helping America's most Vulnerable.

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. with refreshments and a wine pull followed by dinner catered by Palace Cafe, a live auction, a raffle pull and an evening of country-western music with the Rusty Meyers band. Dan Higgins is the 2016 event chairman and Renee Huffaker returns as event co-chair. Later in the evening the 2016 Premier Volunteer Award will be presented to Jack Walters, general manager of the UniFirst Corporation, on behalf of Volunteers of America Oklahoma.

In addition to creating a fun and memorable evening for our guests, Rhinestone Cowboy helps to raise awareness of the organization's programs and services that help Oklahoma's most vulnerable individuals. The goal of Volunteers of America is to create an entertaining and thrilling event so guests will remember the night fondly and the program's initiatives passionately.
