Financial Management Services Help Individuals Live Independently
Since 1999, Payee Services program has been providing services to individuals with documented disabilities who receive Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and other government benefits.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) recognizes Volunteers of America Oklahoma as an Organizational Representative Payee. Payee Services provides assistance to the most vulnerable members of society by serving individuals who are unable to manage their Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits: the young, the elderly, the homeless and the disabled. The SSA pays individuals through representative payees who receive and manage payments on behalf of the beneficiaries.
Any individual 18 years of age and older who receives benefits from SSA is eligible for the program. Some participants are required by SSA to have a representative payee while others may choose to have a representative payee . Volunteers of America Oklahoma's Payee Services program is voluntary; it is up to the individual to choose to use our services.
Participants are assigned a financial case manager who helps manage monthly bills and other financial responsibilities successfully.
