Retired Service Volunteer Program (RSVP) – Muskogee

Since 1999, Volunteers of America Oklahoma in Muskogee coordinates a four county Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for persons 55 and older. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers as it matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to serve their communities.

RSVP provides service opportunities for those who want to make a difference in their communities while maintaining the flexibility to decide with whom and how frequently they serve. Volunteers are on the front lines meeting basic needs of the community and their citizens with meal delivery, transportation to hospitals and doctor’s appointments, and added capacity at other area nonprofits. This program is offered in Cherokee, McIntosh, Muskogee and Sequoyah counties. RSVP assists volunteers in keeping active while fulfilling a crucial community need.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

459 senior volunteers provided 46,731 hours of service to 11,268 people which contributed $1.3 million to the eastern Oklahoma communities.
